A team of our students had the most amazing day at Liverpool University exploring outer space and meeting NASA’s first female Chief Flight Director, Holly Ridings.
The University Engineering Department teamed up with NASA for a day entitled “The Future of Human Space Flight”. Students examined space rocks, raced across Mars in a computer simulation and had a virtual reality experience of the International Space Station.
They also had a question and answer session with a member of the Chinese Space Program and were able to try out the department’s flight simulators. The event finished with an engrossing talk with Holy Ridings and Jackie Bell (who hopes to be Liverpool’s first female astronaut.)
