Key Stage 3 Computing explores the three strands within the National Curriculum: Computer Science, Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital Literacy. Students will be given opportunities to express themselves and develop their own ideas using technology at the level needed for the future workplace. Students will be able to build on their knowledge and understanding to ensure they are digitally literate, being able to transfer these skills into wider parts of life. Throughout KS3, students will be exposed to units of work that will help them make an informed choice for their GCSE options in Year 9. Students will develop skills that they could continue to enhance at Key Stage 4 if they were to choose either GCSE Computer Science or Creative iMedia.
