We believe the Academy of St Francis of Assisi has a duty to work with the community. We have a designated Community Team, which works very closely with local agencies, residents, housing associations and other local services. We also have members of staff on a variety of local committees and forums, offering support and encouragement, and listening to what our community wants and needs.

Our students have the opportunity to get involved in many local and national schemes. In recent years we have created exhibitions in FACT and in ‘Metal’ and Edge Hill. Students also access the many workshops coordinated by a variety of providers such as Liverpool Museums, The Royal Court and Playhouse Theatres, Liverpool Youth Service, Merseyside Police and the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service.
The Academy is a central hub for the community and we are partnered with the Adult Learning Service, providing a selection of evening classes as part of the city-wide initiative. We also have a lettings service which allows the public to book the Academy’s facilities including the sports hall, meeting rooms and training facilities.
